This morning saw us rising early to catch the 0645 train from Glenbrook to the airport, for our flight to Port Hedland where we are volunteering for six weeks at the 'Mission to Seafarers'. We have been looking forward to this since we visited in August last year. How lovely it was to emerge from the plane into the balmy 28' weather after the extremely cold conditions of the upper Blue Mts over the last few days!! It was also a delight to be met by senior Chaplain Allan Mower and his wife Maria.
I must say that I'm very happy to be back in red soil country and it was amazing to fly over the harbour and see the huge iron ore carriers being loaded at the wharves. What a pity I forgot to take a photo!!
What a lovely surprise to find that our accommodation is a newly renovated 1 bedroom unit and we are 'christening' all the new appliances!
We aren't rostered on to work tomorrow which is lovely - they are easing us in! We need a bit of training first!
It's quite amazing that we are now down to two bags (Warwick 's is only cabin luggage size! ) and 2 small back packs after living largely out of the car, interspersed with periods with our children and odd nights with friends! Oh how I'm looking forward to gathering up our household goods from various places in the lower Blue Mts and finally moving into our new home!!

Looks like you'll be pretty comfortable for the next little while, anyway :) Blessings.
